BCEA THRESHOLD MacRobert wishes to draw your attention to the following important notice. Over the past couple of years, the BCEA earnings threshold was increased every year on 1 July. The amendments to the Labour Relations Act, which took effect on 1 January 2015, extended protection to employees in atypical forms of employment earning below the earnings threshold. Because of the far-reaching impact of the threshold in light of these amendments, we have been informed by the Department of Labour that there will be no increase in the earnings threshold this year. The status quo will accordingly remain and the earnings threshold will, for the time being, remain at R 205 433.30 per annum. For any queries you are welcome to contact our labour law division: |
